did quite well for a man of his short stature. He became an actor mainly known for his frequent
portrayals of the Emperor, Napoleon at the L'Opera Fantastique in Paris. Although he was
considered a bit of a celebrity, Fortunado was unlucky in love. He secretly admired an actress
in the troupe named Penelope. However, she was in love with another man named Reynard, a captain
in the Imperial Dragoons that was a very abusive man. Fortunado was content in sending her
anonymous gifts until one day he sent her a sonnet with a vase of roses. Reynard flew into a
jealous rage over this and struck Penelope as Fortunado watched. Compelled to protect Penelope
in any way that he could, he invited Reynard to his dinner party and poisoned him with a bottle
of wine.
The following day, Fortunado was horrified to find out that his beloved Penelope had
drowned herself in the River Siene. She had found Reynard's body and feared she would be accused
of the murder. Grief stricken, Fortunado L'Etoile turned himself over to the police, creating
quite a scandal in the news. While awaiting his death sentence, the Starbearer appeared in his
cell and offered him a pact to become a vessel of the Elder. Fortunado accepted the challenge in
order to atone for his horrible deed and immediately found himself walking along the side of a
desolate road. It was then that the carnival of souls picked him up and he has been known as the
clown of the Circus ever since...
We work long & hard on many of the pictures found on this site. Please do us a favor: don't
rationalize stealing these pictures. If you can't create an original web site, don't do one!
Real simple, right? Anyway, if you do, I'll let my boys Nicky & Mickey pay you a visit. I may
even go as far as getting the Nightmare King to resurrect Deuce! This could get ugly...
