Some comics news from the COMICS CONTINUUM website: IDW LAUNCHES SIMMONS COMICS GROUP
IDW Publishing on Tuesday announced it has partnered with Gene Simmons of KISS to create the Simmons Comics Group, an imprint within IDW's stable of comics.
Simmons himself will be writing some of the comics, and has fully created and fleshed out a number of new titles that will be appearing in 2007.
New Simmons Comics Group titles are:
* Gene Simmons House of Horrors: A quarterly horror anthology debuting in July with a cover by Todd McFarlance. The comic will also feature intros and outros written by the book's host, Gene Simmons. Issue #1 will feature stories written by Chris Ryall, Tom Waltz, Dwight MacPherson, Sean Taylor, and two talented progeny, Alan Moore's daughter Leah Moore (with John Reppion), and Gene Simmons' 17-year-old son Nick Simmons.
* Zipper: A stranger in a strange land tale like no other, created by Simmons and scripted by Tom Waltz.
* Dominatrix:T & A meets CIA in a conspiracy and cleavage-laden series created by Simmons written by Sean Taylor.
* Indy -- Race of the Galazies: A contest of racing champions that takes place in deep space, on alien worlds, and features a cast of millions in a tale that appeals to young and old alike. Created by Simmons and written by Tom Waltz.
In addition to writing and drawing a title of his own under the IDW banner, Nick Simmons' Skullduggery, Nick Simmons will debut his short prose story, "The Child," in the back of IDW's comic books, and other stories of his will also be featured in the House of Horrors anthology.
Gene Simmons will also contribute an editorial page, "Speaking in Tongues," in all issues of the imprint.
"I am a child of comic books. My entire life has been shaped and influenced by the panel graphic artform -- and an art form, it is," Gene Simmons said. "I lived, breathed and dreamed comics. Our Marvel KISS Comics in the '70s were the biggest sellers of the day. I was proud to actually be a superhero in those books. I'm proud to say our Simmons Comics Group is the realization of a dream: And, to partner with IDW, a publishing entity that produces quality comic books and graphic novels of the highest order, is a privilege. We intend on producing grade A material by the best writers and artists. And, we will keep the door open for new talent."
"There's an easy tendency to compare this venture to Gene's past and present KISS Comics ventures, but this is a completely different beast," said IDW's publisher/editor-in-chief Chris Ryall. "Both imprints spring from Gene's fertile, always-spinning mind, but to be in business with Gene in the creation of some all-new comics properties is a the part of this that really excites me. Gene's made no secret of his decades-long love of comics, and he's tapped into that love to create some really solid properties here. He came to us with fully fleshed-out worlds, and we're going to take what he's done and work together to produce some damned good comics that should outlive either one of us."

The DARK HORSE COMICS version of KISS, due out on July 24th: (spoilers)
A bold new direction for Kiss - years after the split-up of these four super-powered warriors,
they've followed very separate paths. The Demon is a bounty hunter; The Starchild lives with a
race of women warriors in South America; The Spaceman is cruising the solar system with no human
contact; and The Catman's getting in touch with his bestial side. When Catman finally goes too
far, the others know they have to band together to save the Catman's humanity. But there's
another hand at work, pushing the Four Who Are One into a corner. This new comic, overseen by
Gene Simmons, turns the ultimate rock-and-roll icons into the ultimate superhero team. By Joe
Casey and Mel Rubi.

Finally tallied the fave of 'The Four' Psycho Poll, and started a BRAND NEW PSYCHO POLL!
NEWS: (8/19/01)
Dark Horse Comics has announced plans to publish an all-new line of comic books based on the rock band KISS. The first of four KISS projects - The Demon, Starchild, Space and Cat Man - will begin publication late next spring. "KISS has always been about defying the odds," said the band's Gene Simmons. "KISS has always been guilty as charged of making a complete spectacle of itself - you're damn right we do! I can't think of a better place to have a partner in crime than Mike Richardson and Dark Horse." According to Dark Horse, Simmons will maintain an active role in the making of the comics, overseeing the creative direction and working with Dark Horse to select the writers and artist for each project. "KISS has a long history in comics," said Dark Horse publisher Mike Richardson. "Gene has built an entertainment phenomenon that commands attention and creates excitement wherever he takes it. We intend to continue that tradition by bringing to life KISS stories that every true fan will appreciate."

More bad news: Kiss Psycho Circus trade paperback # 4 has been indefinitely postponed. :(
NEWS: (11/6/00)
Looks like Kiss Psycho Circus is over for now. I said I'd cover the book until the end, and
it seems as though the end is finally here:
Can you please keep on making Kiss Psycho Circus?
'Unfortunately, the sales no longer allowed me to continue the book. But for what it was worth I
thought it went above and beyond what I wanted out of it. I'll still continue to make toys of
the band though. Todd.'
I will still be adding to the site in the future, so it can't hurt to swing by now and then. If
you're interested in the TPBs, and reprints etc, I'll be following that. (I sure hope they
continue to put out the TPBs!)
NEWS: (10/25/00)
Clayton Crain will be moving on to do 'No Honor' from Top Cow after his run on 'The Darkness' (issues # 34-36) is over. Seems that Kiss Psycho Circus is a cancelled book, without being officially cancelled. It doesn't look too good, but time will tell...
NEWS: (10/15/00)
Some hope yet! At Spawn.com, Todd McFarlane had this to say about raising the price of Kiss Psycho Circus in order to keep it alive: "To keep raising the price to the loyal fans seems to be something that is hard for me to consider. Although no book at all is a problem too to a true fan. I hope to be doing a possible Spawn/Demon crossover with the Gene Simmons character."
NEWS & UPDATE: (9/21/00)
Kiss Psycho Circus: Legends and Nightmares (TPB # 4) is due out sometime in December and it will contain issues # 14-17.
(bad) NEWS: (9/7/00)
While no official cancellation has been announced for Kiss Psycho Circus, things look even worse. Over at the ImpureStudios.com news section the following is posted: "Impure Studios is proud to announce that Clayton Crain will be pencilling issues 34-36 of The Darkness for Top Cow. Inking duties for issue 34 will be split between Impure members Jonathan Glapion and Kevin Conrad, with Jonathan inking solo for issues 35 and 36." Now, this either means that TMP is bringing in a whole new set of artists for Kiss Psycho Circus, or the book is finished. Stay tuned, and I'll keep you posted!
NEWS: (9/5/00)
Not good: TMP are evaluating the future of Kiss Psycho Circus. Hopefully this will not mean a cancellation of the title! I will keep you guys up to date with the info as soon as I get it. Keep your fingers crossed.

NEWS: (5/6/98)
As reported in Kiss Psycho Circus # 8 Psycho Babble
(Letter's page) Issues 10, 11, 12, and 13 will feature four connecting covers to make one large picture.
I'm guessing that each cover will feature one of the "Four-Who-Are-One". These
issues will also have one continuing story line, leading me to believe that Issue # 9 will be either a stand alone
story or a prequel to the 4 issue arc.
We work long & hard on many of the pictures found on this site. Please do us a favor: don't
rationalize stealing ANYTHING. If you can't create an original web site, don't do one!
Real simple, right? Anyway, if you do, I'll let my boys Nicky & Mickey pay you a visit. I may
even go as far as getting the Nightmare King to resurrect Deuce! This could get ugly...
